Ph.D. Antonello Prigioniero
Post Doctoral Researcher - University of Sannio, Department of Science and Technologies

Antonello Prigioniero successfully graduated in Forest and Environmental Science and Technology in September 2018 and received his European PhD in Science and Technology for the Environment and Health from the University of Sannio in July 2022. He is currently employed as a researcher at Unisannio on the Di.Co.Va.Le. project, which aims at the conservation and valorisation of threatened and endemic plant genetic resources in Campania Region.

His work currently follows a dual strand of research: on the one hand, the study of the relationships existing between the physical-chemical characteristics of plants in urban environment and their performance in air phytoremediation; on the other hand, the study of the genetic characterisation of the plant genetic resources investigated in the Di.Co.Va.Le. project. In addition to these two topics, Dr. Prigioniero actively collaborates with his colleagues at the Laboratory of Integrated Systems Biology of Plants and Animals for the Environment and Health, with whom he studies and works on plant-environment and plant-pollutant interactions through original experimental approaches and the application of multi-omics tools.
