GLOBAL STRATEGY FOR THE CONSERVATION AND USE OF FRUIT TREE GENETIC RESOURCES

International Conference

University of Sannio, Benevento, Italy – 30-31 January 2023

The topics addressed by the conference are mainly about the conservation and valorization of fruit trees plant genetic resources all around the world, from a holistic and multidisciplinary point of view, with focus on the state of the art, techniques and perspectives of in situ and ex situ conservation of genetic resources.

GENUINE2023 arises from the experience gained in the development of the DiCoVaLe project (PSR Campania 2024/2020 Measure 10, Intervention type 10.2.1 Conservation of indigenous genetic resources to protect biodiversity - VEGETABLE GENETIC RESOURCES; CUP B24I19000440009) funded by the Campania Region.

The project has so far achieved excellent results in the morphological, agronomic, biochemical and genetic characterization of about 500 endemic and endangered plant genetic resources. With GENUINE2023 we want to share the results and experiences arising from DiCoVaLe and open a scientific discussion on an international table that can contain researchers and policy makers.

GENUINE2023 comes from an emerging need at the global level to direct scientific research and policy makers toward an awareness and sustainable use of plant genetic resources geared toward their conservation, protection and enhancement.
